Five points, a systematic review, and a pilot
Two constraints are easy to miss and both are graded. The first is that Nurse Daniel is an illustration and using his topic, intervention or project is explicitly barred, so choose your own clinical concern early and check it against the transcript before investing any work. The second is that the change is a pilot project, which changes the whole shape: a pilot has a defined unit or population, a limited duration, a small number of measures, and an explicit decision point at the end about whether to spread, adapt or stop. A submission that proposes a hospital-wide rollout has answered a different assignment, however good the intervention is. The pilot framing also lowers what you have to promise: you are not claiming the change works, you are proposing a test that would tell you, and that is a much easier position to defend in the evaluation section.
Then work the model's five points in order and let each do its own job. Discovery is where new knowledge is generated, and your systematic review sits here as the evidence you are drawing on rather than as background reading. Summary is the step students skip: it means synthesising the body of evidence into a single statement of what is known, not summarising each article in turn. Translation converts that statement into a guideline or protocol your unit could actually follow, with enough operational detail that someone else could run it. Integration is implementation, including who is trained, what changes in the workflow and what resistance you expect. Evaluation closes the loop with outcomes chosen before the pilot starts, and it should include both a patient outcome and a process measure, since a pilot that changed nothing clinically because nobody followed the protocol is a different failure from one where the protocol did not work.
